Land by the Sea

Project's description

Land by the Sea

This seaside residence was designed for a father and son who relocated from Jerusalem
to Tel Aviv in search of a more vibrant and dynamic lifestyle. Tailored precisely to
their unique living arrangement, the apartment incorporates a separate residential
unit seamlessly integrated within the main home.

Living arrangement and planning

The primary design challenge was understanding and responding to the complexity of
coexisting lifestyles. While the father and son live side by side, their daily routines
require a high degree of independence and separation. The apartment was therefore
planned with a strong emphasis on practical division, privacy, and clear spatial
organization.

Architecture and interior dialogue

The project demonstrates how the basic architectural framework of the apartment can
both define and refine the interior design. Structural boundaries were carefully used
to create separation where needed, while still allowing the home to function as a
cohesive whole.

The result is a distinctive and highly personalized residence, where architecture and
interior design work together to support a sensitive balance between connection and
independence, reflecting the specific needs of its inhabitants.
