Project's description

Metropolitan Chic: A Tech-Infused Penthouse in Ramat Hasharon

In the heart of Ramat Hasharon, a striking penthouse reflects a seamless blend of advanced technology,
personal taste, and a deep connection to the sea. Spanning 180 square meters with approximately
95 square meters of balconies, the residence was designed for a couple in their forties and their
two teenage children, creating a home that responds precisely to a dynamic and evolving lifestyle.

The project began five years prior to construction, when the homeowners collaborated with a designer
who was already familiar with their way of life. This extended planning phase enabled a deep
understanding of the family’s needs, resulting in a highly personalized and intuitive living environment.

Planning and technological integration

Before construction commenced, significant structural changes were introduced to adapt the apartment
to the family’s priorities. One of the original teenagers’ bedrooms was removed to expand the kitchen,
emphasizing the home’s social and communal character. With the husband being a tech engineer, the
penthouse integrates advanced smart-home technologies that enhance comfort, control, and everyday living.

Color concept and spatial identity

A dynamic color palette defines the public areas, with each space assigned a distinct tone according
to its function and time of use. The living room, designed primarily for evening gatherings, features
a dark, dramatic, and elegant palette, while the kitchen — active throughout the day — is expressed
in lighter, airier shades.

Living spaces and material language

The living room combines high-tech comfort with a subtle nautical reference, expressed through a wavy
amorphous sofa and rounded armchairs upholstered in French fabric. A multifunctional fireplace wall
incorporates concealed storage and a refined drinks bar, while the dining and lounge areas are unified
by a flexible cabriolet ceiling that adapts to various scenarios.

Kitchen and guest areas

The kitchen balances dark and light elements through reflective glass storage fronts and an iron
construction suspended above the island, serving both functional and sculptural purposes. The guest
toilets act as a transitional space between the darker living room and the bright kitchen, featuring
an ocean-inspired geometric mosaic in soft blue and gray tones, complemented by a concrete sink with
industrial detailing.

Outdoor spaces

The main balcony, extending across 75 square meters, functions as a lush outdoor retreat. A pergola-covered
dining area, green wall, outdoor kitchen, fire table, and integrated technology — including a television
screen and ambient evening lighting — create an ideal setting for family life and hosting.

Private suites

The teenage children’s suites each include a private bathroom and a full-height closet, separated
from the sleeping area by a glass wall with a Belgian profile. The master bedroom was redesigned to
enhance spaciousness and incorporates a nautical theme, featuring a rounded bed that evokes the movement
of water. Part of the space was converted into a walk-in closet with stacked glass ceilings and movable walls,
creating a private retreat within the home.

Design language

The overall aesthetic draws inspiration from an industrial American loft, softened by refined details
and a maritime undertone. Materials such as concrete ceilings, smoked oak parquet flooring, and Belgian
profiles reinforce the architectural character, while the layout ensures fluid movement and versatility
across all living areas.
