Hikari Laboratories – Multi-Use Concept Hall
The “Hikari Laboratories” project is located in a conservation building in Benei Atarot, a historic settlement in Israel,
within a rare 120-year-old Templar structure. Originally built as a family barn, the building was transformed into
a multi-use concept hall designed to support the evolving needs of an innovative cosmetics company.
From the initial planning stages, the owners of Hikari emphasized the importance of flexibility and future adaptability.
The space was designed to accommodate professional training for beauticians, staff meetings, multiple seating and
hospitality areas, a CEO office with operational control access, a guest restroom, and a kitchenette.
Design concept and values
The design concept aligns closely with the core values of Hikari Laboratories — the integration of natural materials
with innovation through advanced technologies. A strong emphasis was placed on timeless aesthetics and on preserving
the historical character of the exposed Templar stone structure.
Dialogue between old and new
Careful attention was given to the relationship between the original architecture and contemporary interventions.
Openings were designed in accordance with the original building envelope, allowing the historic structure to remain
clearly legible while accommodating modern requirements.
Material palette and technologies
The concept is expressed through the use of natural materials with a modern sensibility, such as stone, iron,
and a luxurious marble floor. The design deliberately avoids dependence on fleeting trends, favoring long-lasting
solutions. Advanced technologies were thoughtfully integrated into both functional and aesthetic elements,
adapting to the existing structure and its architectural challenges.
